WHOLE FOODS CONTROVERSY, REDUX
The Los Angeles Times weighs in on the Whole Foods mess. A number of people in the tony Rancho neighborhood believe traffic from the upscale market (sometimes referred to as "Whole Paycheck") will spook the horses. The Daily News, I believe, was first on this story. LAT.

FARMER'S MARKET
OK, so it's not really news. But the farmer's market at Third Street and Orange Grove Avenue is apparently a big hit among us locals. I suppose I ought to check it out sometime. Leader.

CITY FIGHTS NEW WATER RULES
Burbank and the city of Los Angeles join to fight new, more stringent, clean water rules. Mayor Todd Campbell claims the new rules, besides being unnecessary, will mean higher utility rates. Leader.
