The State of Newspapers

Oi. It looks like things are going to get worse before they get better... And fewer and fewer people seem to be believe that it ever will. The LA Times semi-announced that it is killing the California section, deciding to fold local news into the front section. They do this at their peril, I'm afraid.

I currently get the Times, but only Thursday-Sunday, and only because I was offered those days for $39 a year. A year! Good deal. I can probably find enough coupons to make money on the deal. Besides, I still like reading the paper. I find I read the stories more thoroughly than when I read articles online.

And, besides, if newspapers go out of business, the news aggregation sites and blogs that bitch about the MSM they depend upon will go out of business. Ahh.
